Piecework 6th Annual Historical Knitting Issue
(Interweave Knits) Once again, an issue stuffed with fascinating historic and contemporary knitting traditions. In the middle of Lake Titicaca there's an island where the men knit endlessly - when they're not weaving - creating beautiful traditional multicolour hats with 22st/in yarn. There are several Victorian knitting patterns (the pineapple purse is incredible. How did they figure that out?> and a WWII era glove pattern that tells a story of survival in upheaval. There is a lot more in this issue - i don't want to spoil the surprises!
